How It Works

Strategic Veterans Housing Liaison Services (SVHLS) uses a structured, repeatable housing model that connects private homeowners, Veterans Affairs partners, and veterans in need of stable housing. The process is designed to provide predictable income for property owners while expanding dignified, long-term housing options for veterans.

01

Property Identification

SVHLS identifies single-family rental homes, typically with 3–5 bedrooms, that are well-suited for shared living arrangements. Properties are sourced from common rental platforms and evaluated for safety, quality, and suitability for veteran-focused housing.

Focus on 3–5 bedroom homes for shared occupancy
Preference for stable, residential neighborhoods
Evaluation for comfort, accessibility, and long-term use
02

Homeowner Partnership

Once a suitable property is identified, SVHLS approaches the homeowner with a master lease proposal. Under this structure, SVHLS becomes the official tenant, and the homeowner receives guaranteed monthly rent from a single, professional leasing entity.

Formal master lease agreement with the homeowner
Consistent monthly rent and reduced vacancy risk
SVHLS serves as the primary point of contact, not the individual occupants
03

VA Coordination

After securing the property, SVHLS coordinates with local VA offices and veteran service organizations to identify veterans in need of housing. This partnership ensures that placements align with existing support programs and eligibility requirements.

Collaboration with VA housing coordinators and veteran programs
Focus on veterans seeking stable, transitional, or long-term housing
Clear communication channels for availability and placement
04

Veteran Placement

SVHLS places veterans into the home using a shared-housing model, with two veterans per bedroom. This structure keeps housing affordable while supporting a sense of community and mutual accountability among residents.

Two veterans per bedroom in a shared, community-oriented setting
A dignified, residential environment—not a shelter or emergency housing setup
Structured, long-term housing designed for stability and cohesion
05

Ongoing Oversight & Coordination

Throughout the lease term, SVHLS manages coordination and communication between the homeowner, the veterans, and VA partners. The organization oversees compliance with lease terms and supports a stable living environment for residents.

Single point of contact for homeowners and VA partners
Ongoing oversight of property use, occupant coordination, and basic compliance
Emphasis on long-term stability, professionalism, and respect for the property

Our Role in the Process

SVHLS operates as a leasing intermediary and master tenant, not as a shelter, property manager, or government agency. The role is to structure housing in a way that balances financial sustainability for owners with accessible, stable housing for veterans.

Independent organization using formal lease agreements

Socially driven, but built on a clear, predictable business model

Strategic partnerships at the intersection of veteran needs and private housing supply
